Privacy isn’t a feature we added — it’s the reason NeuroCalm AI exists. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means in practice.

This Privacy Policy describes how NeuroCalm AI (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Kartikeya Mishra from India, collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the NeuroCalm AI mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”).
By using NeuroCalm AI, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Our core commitment
NeuroCalm AI is engineered around a principle we call on-device-first computing. The sensitive work — facial emotion detection, voice transcription, journal content, mood analysis — happens entirely on your own device. We cannot read your journal, we cannot see your camera, and we do not keep a copy of what you say.
2. Information we do collect
To operate the Service, we collect only the minimum necessary:
- Account information (if you create an account): email address, display name, country, and a hashed password.
- Transaction information when you purchase a subscription: transaction ID, amount, currency, and payment status. Card and UPI details are processed directly by Razorpay — we never see or store them.
- Device & diagnostic data: device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, and anonymised usage events (e.g. “opened panic mode,” “completed breathing exercise”). This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you.
- Support communications: if you email us, we retain the email thread until the issue is resolved, plus up to 12 months for records.
3. Information we do NOT collect
- Your camera feed. Emotion Sync uses on-device ML models. Frames are processed in memory and immediately discarded. Nothing is uploaded, saved, or transmitted.
- Your voice recordings. Voice check-ins are transcribed on your device. The audio is deleted the instant transcription completes.
- Your journal entries. Text journals, mood logs, and session insights are stored locally in encrypted storage on your device. They never touch our servers.
- Contacts, location, or browsing history. We have no reason to access them and we don’t request the permissions.
4. How we use the information we do collect
- To provide and operate the Service (e.g. unlock premium features after payment).
- To process transactions through Razorpay and provide invoices.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To fix bugs and improve performance using anonymised diagnostics.
- To comply with applicable law, including Indian tax and IT regulations.
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioural profiling, or resale. We do not run ad networks. We do not sell data to third parties. Period.
5. Payment processing (Razorpay)
Payments on NeuroCalm AI are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment gateway licensed by the Reserve Bank of India. When you make a payment, you are redirected to Razorpay’s secure checkout. Razorpay handles card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs, and bank credentials directly — this information never reaches our servers.

6. Data storage & security
- On-device data is stored using platform-native encrypted storage (EncryptedSharedPreferences / Keychain). It is inaccessible to other apps.
- Account and transaction records (the small amount we do store) are held on servers protected by TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest, located in India.
- Access to production systems is restricted to the founder and audited.
No system is 100% impenetrable. If a breach ever affects you, we will notify you within 72 hours of discovery, as required by applicable law.
7. Your rights under Indian law (DPDP Act, 2023)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Withdraw consent for any optional processing.
- Nominate a representative in the event of your incapacitation.
- Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer.

8. Children
NeuroCalm AI is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Third-party services
Besides Razorpay, we use the following minimal third-party services:
- Google Play / Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting and app distribution.
- Vercel to host this marketing website. Vercel logs standard HTTP access information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Service or to comply with new laws. Material changes will be announced in-app and on this page at least 14 days before they take effect.
